Loadstar Dispatchers is currently looking for a TRAILER JOURNEY PERSON / apprentice with trailer experience to work out of our Edmonton shop. We offer regular work, competitive wages. We are not looking for an entry level person at this time.
Responsibilities
- Normal fleet maintenance tasks for large commercial trailers
- CVIP TRTAILERS
- Review work orders and plan work to be completed with Supervisor in a safe, efficient and timely manner
- Ability to use various tools and diagnostic equipment to detect and perform repairs
- Inspection, detection and repairing of various systems (air, auxiliary, braking, ventilation, hydraulic, suspension, electrical systems) landing gear, jeeps, boosters, frames, bodies, hitches, tires, wheels, hubs, axles
- Able to read and properly interpret service specifications and manufacturer operating manuals
- Analyze and adjust corrected systems to specifications as outlined in manufacturer manuals
- Perform scheduled maintenance service
- Effective communication with coworkers
- Must be willing to stay current with technology and upgrade skills as necessary
- Committed to obtaining all trade related certifications
- Duties may vary according to business needs.
- Some overtime and on call availability
Qualifications
- Must have at least 2 year of experience diagnosing & servicing commercial highway trailers
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs plus
- Organized, motivated and well kept
- Speak, read and write fluent English
- Ability to work effectively unsupervised meeting deadlines and also to participate with the team
- Provide a high level of attention to details
- Comfortable with computer equipment, cell phones, GPS, scanners, e-forms, internet (any computer automation)
- Able to follow all provincial laws & regulations, company policies, OH&S, TDG.
- Ability to drive 18 speed manual transmission truck, hook and park 53’ transport trailers an asset.
Environment
- This job is performed in a shop as well as outside in all climates, we ask all employees to be prepared for variable weather condition.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
