About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Role Overview:
Reporting to the HR Superintendent, the HR Supervisor will play a key role in partnering with leaders to deliver strategic, enterprise and operational objectives across the employee life cycle to drive growth and continuous improvement for team performance. This role serves as the 2-IC to the Superintendent of the team. The HR Supervisor will support the roll out of HR initiatives while providing proactive advice and education, making recommendations and building solutions to foster positive employee relations and employee engagement.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Partner with leaders to deliver strategic, enterprise and operational objectives across the employee life cycle to drive growth and continuous improvement for team performance.
- Serve as the 2-IC to the Superintendent of the team.
- Support the roll out of HR initiatives while providing proactive advice and education, making recommendations and building solutions to foster positive employee relations and employee engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, establish and achieve targets/standards, schedule resources, and assign work in such a way that team members can make effective use of materials, equipment, and resources to achieve goals.
- Seek opportunities for learning to improve the HR function, site, and organization business metrics.
- Foster positive working relationships with leaders to drive positive employee relations and engagement.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for complex employee relations matters.
- Lead recruitment for senior roles, including candidate assessment, selection, offer presentation and negotiation.
- Provide leadership and coaching to early career HR professionals.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Undergraduate degree in an associated field of study required; college certificate in Human Resource Management considered an asset.
- Master’s degree in an associated discipline considered an asset.
- CHRP designation in good standing is required.
- Minimum of 8-10 years relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, establish and achieve targets, schedule resources, and assign work in a manner that team members can make use of materials, equipment and tools to achieve pre-defined schedule and goals.
- Strong influence skills with demonstrated ability to make situational recommendations based on data and context.

Working Conditions:
- 4 days on, 3 days off, 10 hours per day. This role is a local mine site position.
