We have an immediate opening for a full-time licensed mechanical engineer at the intermediate to senior level.
The ideal candidate is a hard-working and eager individual with relevant experience in the mechanical field and a focus on technically challenging projects. The successful candidate will have extensive technical and detailing skills and be client service oriented. The ability to handle multiple projects at once, great organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, the ability to participate in presentations, time management skills and attention to detail as well as technical drawing and detailing skills are also essential.
Responsibilities & Duties:
+ Perform fundamental engineering calculations and code reviews to determine loads and system requirements.
+ Review and evaluate applicable system types and design solutions appropriate for the application.
+ Coordinate with other disciplines and provide input throughout the design process to optimize the design to meet the client’s overall project objectives.
+ Conduct site surveys and report on building conditions, components and systems.
+ Design and draft various building systems including but not limited to sprinkler, plumbing and drainage systems, hydronic hot and chilled water systems, HVAC systems including gas and refrigeration equipment and controls.
+ Develop and update project specifications.
+ Conduct site visits and inspections during construction to; check for conformance with the design documentation, evaluate progress invoices, review contractor questions, witness commissioning of equipment.
+ Incorporate integrated sustainable design solutions into projects.
+ Participate in professional development; reviews and “Lessons Learned” sessions.
Qualifications & Skills:
+ Is a licensed professional engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario.
+ Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
+ Four plus years’ experience in mechanical building systems design
+ Excellent working knowledge of BIM, Revit and Microsoft Office 365.
+ Understanding of quality standards relative to engineering design and planning as well as engineering fundamentals and principles.
+ Results oriented, accurate and thorough.
+ Creative and forward thinking.
+ Self-motivated and well organized; able to multi-task.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingualism English/French as an asset.
+ Positive and enthusiastic demeanour with a professional attitude.
+ Work well in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines/commitments.
+ Must be able to receive a government of Canada security clearance.

The salary range for this position is between $70,000 - $110,000 commensurate with experience. Our firm also offers competitive benefits and career growth opportunities through training.
