The YMCA of Saskatoon is looking for a Before and After School Care (BASC) Team Lead to supervise, plan and deliver a consistent child-centred programing at one of our BASC schools.
Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, and deliver high-quality BASC programming that aligns with YMCA objectives and demonstrates a commitment to excellence

Appreciate and support YMCA’s vision, mission, and values.

Provide leadership, guidance, and accountability for BASC Leaders in partnership with the Manager, and support positive stewardship of program spaces in collaboration with the school.

Foster the learning, development, and well-being of school-aged children by ensuring quality programming, care, and supervision

Plan a daily/weekly schedule of regular activities suitable to your school and group of children.

Ensure all child protection policies are followed.

Inventory and pick up supplies and drop off reports and documentation to downtown YMCA each month.

Create a team atmosphere amongst the BASC program leaders that enables everyone to contribute to the care of the participants and families.

Attend staff meetings and training opportunities provided by the YMCA for BASC Team Leads.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:

1-2 years’ experience working with children and youth as groups and individuals, OR 1-year post-secondary education in a related field

Valid class 5 driver's license; access to reliable transportation to and from shifts.

Competent with both computer and mobile technology, with access to email and messaging apps for communication.

Current First Aid and CPR Certification

Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector search (not more than 6 months old)

18+ years of age

Legally entitled to work in Canada

Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities

Ability to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round; may be exposed to heat, humidity or cold

Awareness of child development, program requirements, confidentiality standards, and child protection practices.

Part-Time Contract Position: September 1, 2026-June 30, 2027

Up to 30 hours per week

Mondays to Fridays; must be available to work shifts from 7:00-9am and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Starting Rate: $16.60/hour
