Within HEB Manitoba, Member Services serves as the central hub for all Plan enrolments, changes, updates, and member inquiries. We are dedicated to empowering members and their families with clear, timely, and accurate information to support informed decisions about their coverage and entitlements.
Reporting to the Manager, Benefits Specialist, the Benefits Specialist will play a key role in delivering high‑quality support to members, employers, and unions. This position drives coordination of Plan administration across multiple departments and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and service‑driven team culture.

Your exciting journey:
Within the first three months, you will:
- Build a strong understanding of HEB Manitoba’s Plans, policies, and administrative processes.
- Become familiar with internal systems, workflows, and data requirements.
- Begin developing relationships with internal teams, Participating Employers, and other key stakeholders.
- Support Member Services Administrators and learn the training framework used across the department.
Your responsibilities will increase to include:
- Delivering high-quality service to members and other stakeholders by providing timely and accurate information via email, phone, and in-person meetings.
- Analyzing data to ensure consistent application of eligibility criteria and adherence to Plan administration requirements.
- Developing and delivering presentations, training sessions, and communication materials to members and stakeholders across Manitoba.
- Acting as a liaison with Participating Employers, offering guidance on Plan administration and policy interpretation.
- Contributing to cyclical initiatives and special projects that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Promoting a cohesive team environment that supports continuous improvement and service excellence.
Qualifications for Your Success:
Experience & Education
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in the pension and benefits sector, with a strong focus on customer service and applying industry standards.
- Completion of a related post-secondary degree or diploma (Business or Finance).
- Proven experience facilitating presentations and training for diverse audiences.
- Completion of, or active pursuit of, CEBS or PPAC certification is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Competencies & Skills
- Solid understanding of group insurance benefits and pension plan administration.
- Analytical thinker with sound judgment and decision‑making capabilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout Manitoba to support members and stakeholders.
- Must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and have access to a reliable vehicle.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Collaborative and proactive mindset with the ability to build relationships across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
