Overview

Castle Mountain Resort is looking for skilled, motivated cooks to join our culinary team at the Day Lodge cafeteria. In this customer-facing role, you'll prepare high-quality meals for guests throughout their day on the mountain. Guest satisfaction starts with what's on the plate. We encourage our cooks to bring their own ideas to the table, creating daily specials and working with our Executive Chef to develop the menu. What We Offer You

$16.50/hr starting wage, plus tips
Full time, seasonal - 30-40hr/week starting the end of November to mid April, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate
Shifts are mostly daytime and weekends
Full mountain season pass

Responsibilities

Comply with standards of service and assist in assuring the same for all kitchen associates.
Communicate with customers to take and fulfil orders
Help control food waste.
Ensure all food safe policies are followed.
In conjunction with the Executive Chef, execute daily specials.
Maintain a positive relationship with all front of house associates.
Maintain all cooler logs to ensure all fridges are working within the parameters of health guidelines.
Responsible for all the daily preparation of food items for various stations and all areas of both kitchens
Serve Day Lodge customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
Complete daily and weekly cleaning of kitchen and equipment
Assist with the washing of dishes as required
Preparation of all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner working at an efficient and consistent pace.
Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in all work areas of the kitchen.
Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers or griddles.

Qualifications

1+ years of cooking in a restaurant/pub kitchen
Entry level knife skills
Food safe certification is considered an asset.
Post-secondary education or trade certificates are considered an asset.

Where We Are

Castle Mountain Resort is located at the end of Highway 774, near Pincher Creek, AB. This is a remote work location. There is a communal living Staff Accommodation building on-site for new and returning non-supervisory, seasonal employees.
