Service Staff for Events and Weddings
(Platters Catering & Events / Vivid Hospitality)
Location: Guelph, Ontario.
Server responsibilities include:
- Serving variety of events; including weddings, banquets and conference groups.
-Set up and tear down a wide variety of events such as company holiday functions, large and small corporate events, weddings, trade shows, dinners, lunches, meetings and conferences.
- Providing friendly and efficient Food & Beverage Service
- Professionally greet and welcome guests upon their arrival
- Project a pleasant and positive professional image to all guests at all times
- Deliver and present food items to guest tables
- Clear and reset tables
- Ensure that a clean, tidy and safe environment is maintained at all times
- Perform opening, cleaning and closing duties.
- Execute the Banquet Event Order (BEO) according to the specifications for the event. At times move, unstack and set up chairs and tables, place covers on chairs or move and lift equipment such as a rack of dishes, chaffing dishes, stage pieces, risers and table carts.

Education: None required.
License requirements:
- Smart Serve Required
- Driver's License with Car Preferred
Experience:
- Experience in a Banquet and Serving is an asset.
Languages: Proficient in English, (Speak/Read/Write)
Work setting: Variety of Outdoor Locations/Kitchen/Warehouse distribution center.
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Specific Skills: Basic food knowledge, line kitchen, dietary restriction management, detail orientated.
Own tools/equipment: Slip Resistant Shoes, Black on Black dress code.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, handling/lifting up to 50 lbs. Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling, tight deadlines.
Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Writing, Oral Communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Continuous learning.
