Certified Dental Assistant living in North or West Vancouver
Mobile Dental Hygiene Clinic - unique opportunity.
Overview:
We are a mobile dental hygiene clinic providing service to people living in Long-Term Care (LTC) homes. We are looking for a friendly, conscientious and compassionate Certified Dental Assistant to join our team. We are unique in that we travel to care homes throughout the Lower Mainland.
This part-time role is ideal for someone looking for meaningful work in a supportive environment. * The candidate MUST live in North or West Vancouver for access to equipment and supplies.
You will assist the dental hygienist during mobile clinical care provided within Long Term Care homes. The role includes patient support, infection control, operatory setup, charting assistance, sterilization, and helping create a calm and positive experience for residents.
Responsibilities include:
- Bring equipment and supplies to the clinic, unload and set up for the day
- Verify patient information and update electronic records accurately using cloud based Akitu One software (training provided)
- Assist in portering residents (patients) to their appointments and liase with care home staff
- Scribe for Dental Hygienist (DH) during appointments
- Prepare invoices, assist with treatment reports
- Submit insurance claims for government plans
- Communicate with practice owner, triage issues and escalate when needed
- Ensure compliance with privacy regulations related to medical/ dental records
- Maintain cybersecurity
Requirements:
- Must reside in North Vancouver or West Vancouver due to travel and traffic requirements between care homes. (non-negotiable, unfortunately)
- Current Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) status in British Columbia with 1 year experience
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal), other languages beneficia
- Strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with dental practice management software systems - we use Akitu One
