POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
We are looking for MECHANICAL DRAFTING TECHNOLOGISTS.
This position is primarily focused on drafting, 3D modeling, and design documentation, working closely with our existing design team to turn concepts, hand sketches, and existing designs into accurate, production-ready drawings.
Required skills & Experience:
- Technologist Diploma or higher
- Experience using SolidWorks
- Strong mechanical drafting and drawing skills
- Ability to interpret hand sketches, existing drawings, and design concepts
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to research components, manufacturers, and technical specifications
- Experience creating and modifying 3D models and assemblies
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills and ability to keep project drawings and parts information organized
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Convert hand sketches and design concepts into detailed SolidWorks drawings
- Prepare and modify 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models
- Create drawings and documentation from existing designs
- Research and model purchased components and manufactured parts
- Develop and maintain SolidWorks parts, assemblies, and drawings
- Assist designers with equipment and component design
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability
- Assist with maintaining organized project drawings, models, and parts lists
- Work with the shop and design team to resolve drawing and fabrication questions
