CNC Set up Operator – Mill and Lathe
Shift: Rotational 1 week days – 1 week afternoons
Pay: $30-35/hr pending on experience (minimum 5 years)
Major activities and tasks:
· Plans machining set ups and trouble shooting by studying work orders, blueprints, and process set up procedures.
· Must be able to understand ERP systems to follow schedules for on time (just in time deliveries)
· Program mills and lathes by entering instructions including zero and reference points.
· Manual loading of feed mechanisms, Bowl feeding automation, or a combination of both loading options.
· Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three and four jaw chucks, tools and any other set up attachments needed in the set up procedure for components.
· Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample work pieces. Once verified will work closely with quality inspectors for first off approval.
· Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread tapping operations.
· Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
· Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance
· Maintains continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating action
· Documents and records in process inspection and updating quality procedures and logs throughout the production run
· Is willing to participate in educational opportunities to improve job knowledge
· Study job orders and interpret blueprints to determine machining operations to be performed
· Set up and operate machine tools to perform repetitive machining operations, such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, planning, honing, broaching, grinding or other machining operations
· Verify dimensions of parts machined using micrometers, callipers and other precision measuring instruments
