Industrial Painter (Powder Coating)
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying protective coatings and powder coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes on metal components and other surfaces. The ideal candidate will have experience with surface preparation, coating application, and safe operation of painting equipment while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, clean, sand, and mask surfaces prior to painting or coating application.
- Repair cracks, holes, and minor surface imperfections before painting.
- Mix paints and coatings to achieve the required colour, consistency, and texture.
- Apply paint, powder coatings, and other protective finishes using appropriate spray equipment and application techniques.
- Operate equipment used for applying protective coatings to metal items and other materials.
- Sand metal furniture and fabricated metal products to prepare them for painting or powder coating.
- Apply coatings and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces as required.
- Erect scaffolding, swing stages, and attach rigging when necessary to safely access work areas.
- Advise customers on paint colours, finishes, and wall covering selections when required.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain painting equipment, tools, and a clean, safe work environment.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience as an industrial, commercial, or construction painter is preferred.
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and minor repairs.
- Experience applying industrial paints, protective coatings, and powder coatings.
- Ability to operate spray painting and coating equipment safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with scaffolding, swing stages, and rigging is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
Pay: $36.00 per hour
