We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled ESXi Infrastructure Engineer to join our infrastructure solutions team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and managing virtualization infrastructure. Your expertise will enable our clients to leverage the full potential of the ESXi Platform (VMware) and other leading virtualization technologies, ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient architectures.
Responsibilities
- Participate in project planning activities. (Meetings, Status reporting, Off-hour Implementations, Change requests, Functional testing, etc.)
- Participate in the design and implementation of new VMware environments, host deployments, cluster expansions, infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and hardware refresh initiatives.
- Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and support VMware ESXi hosts and associated virtualization infrastructure across production and non-production environments.
- Configure and administer VMware vCenter Server, including clusters, hosts, virtual machines, templates, permissions, alarms, resource pools, and operational policies.
- Provision, configure, migrate, troubleshoot, optimize, and decommission Windows and Linux virtual machines in accordance with established infrastructure standards.
- Monitor and optimize CPU, memory, storage, and network utilization across ESXi hosts and virtual machines, identifying performance bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions.
- Analyze infrastructure utilization, growth trends, resource contention, and capacity requirements and provide recommendations for additional compute, memory, storage, or network resources.
- Configure and troubleshoot VMware storage connectivity and datastores, including SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, VMFS, and related storage technologies.
- Configure and troubleshoot ESXi networking, including virtual switches, distributed switches, VLANs, NIC teaming, routing, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP connectivity, MTU, and network performance issues.
- Provide operational support for Windows Server and Linux systems, including operating system configuration, patching, services, file systems, authentication, troubleshooting, and general system administration.
- Implement and maintain VMware and server security controls, including ESXi hardening, access control, privileged administration, patch management, certificate management, secure management interfaces, and remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
- Support virtual machine backup, snapshot, restore, replication, and disaster recovery processes and assist with periodic recovery and business continuity testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure incidents involving VMware, servers, storage, networking, operating systems, and dependent services; perform root-cause analysis for recurring or critical issues.
- Plan and perform ESXi, vCenter, VMware Tools, firmware, driver, operating system, and infrastructure component upgrades while minimizing service disruption.
- Maintain infrastructure monitoring, alerts, configuration documentation, diagrams, asset information, standard operating procedures, knowledge articles, and technical support records.
- Work closely with network, security, storage, backup, application, service desk, and customer teams to resolve infrastructure issues, support changes, meet SLAs, and provide technical recommendations for improving reliability, security, performance, and resilience.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of industry experience with 5 years gained on ESXi Platform
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Must be articulate and proficient in the English language
- Must have one or more VMware Certifications
- Any security Certification would be an advantage
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Any Cybersecurity Certifications (CISSP, GIAC, CCSP, CISA, CISM, etc) will be an advantage.

Pay: $60.00-$80.00 per hour
