Big White is seeking applications for the position of Retail Sales Associate for the upcoming summer season. As a Retail Sales Associate you will have a friendly and cheerful disposition, a willingness to learn, and previous experience in a retail environment. We offer a wide range of products, from bike related merchandise to giftware. Previous experience with bike and hike-related products, as well as technical apparel, will be considered a strong asset. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service through your product knowledge and genuine interest in outfitting our guests with product that will ensure a great experience and memory of their time at Big White.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional manner
- Provide product recommendations based on customer needs
- Keeping the store and storage areas clean and tidy
- Restocking
- Receive, unpack, and organize merchandise deliveries
- Follow all procedures related to theft prevention, cash handling/balancing, and safety
- Operate Retail Pro Prism the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately
- Maintain visual merchandising standards set by management, including stocking shelves and cleaning.
- Cleaning stores while keeping up standards set by management
Required qualifications/skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent customer service mindset with a friendly, outgoing attitude.
- Good organizational skills
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, especially in outdoor/sporting goods or apparel.
- Ability to use a variety of computer applications
- Ability to handle transactions accurately using a POS system and basic math skills
- Administrative skills
- Time management skills
- Working knowledge of the facility, services and local area
- Must be approachable, dependable and a strong team player
- Must be able to deal with people of various ages with animation and with patience
- Must be able to work Thursday-Sundays and Holiday Mondays
- Comfortable working in an alpine environment and moving between indoor/outdoor spaces.
Location:
Big White Ski Resort, BC, Canada
Start date is the week beginning June 29th 2026. The summer season at Big White closes on September 7th 2026.
Winter employment may also be available for the right candidate
Hours:
30–40/week, with shifts scheduled between Thursday and Sunday, as well as holiday Mondays, based on resort operating days.
We will also consider part-time candidates for this roll.
Wages:
Starting wage $19.00/hour
Includes a Bike Big White season pass
