The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Transmission Line Engineering Team Lead to join our team.
To support our growing portfolio of transmission projects across North America, including major ECI and EPC projects, we're expanding our Ontario Transmission Line Engineering team with this newly created leadership position.
In this role, you'll lead and grow our Ontario Transmission Line Engineering team while overseeing the successful delivery of medium and high-voltage transmission projects. You'll combine technical leadership with people leadership, supporting project execution, mentoring engineers, and helping shape the continued growth of our transmission practice.

This role is based out of our Mississauga office reporting to the Engineering Manager. We offer a dynamic work environment with an extremely experienced technical team, where you will be fully involved in all aspects of the engineering and design process while building and developing the team around you.
What You'll Do

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of transmission line engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and safety-focused culture
- Coordinate team resources, workloads, and priorities across multiple concurrent projects
- Lead the engineering and design of medium and high-voltage overhead and underground transmission projects from conceptual design through construction support
- Oversee capital project development, including feasibility studies, project scope definition, cost estimates, and detailed engineering
- Prepare proposals, technical approaches, execution plans, budgets, and resource plans for new opportunities
- Develop design criteria, material specifications, construction specifications, and engineering deliverables that meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
- Review, seal, and maintain the quality of engineering deliverables while supporting continuous improvement of engineering standards and practices
- Manage project schedules, budgets, utilization, and engineering performance while reporting progress, risks, and forecasts to senior leadership
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development and identifying new opportunities
- Conduct site visits, field reviews, and technical meetings with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams as required
Requirements
What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered in Ontario or eligible for immediate registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Minimum 10 years of transmission line engineering experience, with the majority gained in Canada
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, including CSA, CEC, IEEE, IEC, CIGRE, ANSI, and NEMA
- Proficiency with the PLS software suite
- Experience preparing proposals, estimates, project budgets, and engineering schedules
- Experience delivering industrial, utility, EPC, or ECI projects
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and client relationship management skills
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel occasionally to project sites and other Phasor offices
- Experience with Ontario transmission utilities, electrical studies (EMF, corona, grounding, lightning), and construction support is considered an asset
Expected annual salary: $70,000-$100,000 (actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, and current market conditions.)
