Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to support children's individual needs
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities
- Collaborate with team members to develop individualized education plans for children with special needs or disabilities
- Support children with disabilities by adapting activities and providing necessary accommodations
- Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and safety standards
- Use computer skills to document observations, prepare reports, and communicate with families electronically
- Demonstrate leadership in guiding less experienced staff or interns when applicable
- Manage classroom routines efficiently through strong organizational skills and time management
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in early childhood settings or classrooms is essential
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education is highly desirable
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is preferred to serve diverse populations effectively
- Demonstrated teaching ability with a focus on early childhood development principles
- Strong communication skills necessary for interacting with children, families, and team members
- Familiarity with computer operation for documentation and communication purposes
- Proven organizational skills to manage classroom activities, schedules, and records effectively
- Experience in leadership roles or supervising other staff or interns is an asset
Pay: $25.86-$26.86 per hour
