Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Tile Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing tile surfaces in residential and commercial projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Tile Installer will collaborate with other trades and ensure all work meets quality standards and safety regulations.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine tile layout and installation procedures.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary adhesives or mortar.
- Install various types of tiles including ceramic, porcelain, stone, and glass using hand tools and power tools.
- Cut tiles accurately using tile saws, wet saws, or other cutting tools to fit designated spaces.
- Apply grout, caulking, and sealants to finish tile surfaces professionally.
- Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and adhesion of tiles for a smooth finish.
- Perform repairs or replacements of existing tile surfaces as needed.
- Maintain a clean work area and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other trades to complete projects efficiently.
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding schematics related to tile installation projects.
- Experience with hand tools such as trowels, chisels, levels, and measuring tapes.
- Knowledge of construction practices including concrete forming, masonry, carpentry, and flooring installation.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively for cutting and shaping tiles.
- Familiarity with construction estimating and project planning is a plus.
- Skills in caulking, concrete finishing, plumbing integration, electrical experience, restoration work, cabinet installation, construction painting, welding, heavy equipment operation are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on precision and quality workmanship.
- Good physical stamina for lifting heavy materials and working in various positions over extended periods.
