The Role:
We are currently seeking experienced, motivated, and reliable Lead Installers to join our growing team immediately. As a Lead Installer, you will be the on-site supervisor for installation projects, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
This is a "working foreman" role. As a Lead Installer, you will not just be supervising from the sidelines—you will be actively leading by example, performing the manual labour, and mastering the specialized tools of the trade alongside your team. This position involves working with a variety of materials in diverse environments.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a small installation crew.
- Perform expert installation of:
- Window Films (solar control, security, decorative).
- Window Coverings (blinds, shades, drapes).
- Specialty Materials (including FRP panels and other architectural finishes).
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and installation specifications.
- Conduct site measurements and assess project requirements.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs and completion sign-offs.
- Use digital safety/compliance platforms; previous experience with "SiteDocs" is a strong asset.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and regulations (including appropriate PPE).
- Fall Protection Training is considered an asset.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior installers.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Experience Required: Proven experience as a professional installer is required. Specific experience installing window film, window coverings, OR specialty materials (like FRP) is strongly preferred. Significant experience in a directly related trade (e.g., finishing carpentry, glazing, sign installation) will be considered.
- Leadership Skills: Previous experience leading a team is a strong asset.
- Mobility: Must be willing and able to travel and perform out-of-town work as required by project schedules.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to work accurately with diverse materials and tools. High attention to detail is critical.
- Physical Ability: Must be capable of the physical demands of installation work, including lifting, bending, and working on ladders or scaffolding.
- Reliability: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. A clean driving abstract may be requested.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Background Check Requirements: Due to the sensitive nature of some of our project locations (such as schools, healthcare facilities, or government sites), you must be able to pass and maintain a clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check to be eligible for dispatch to these sites.
