Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing patient interactions, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in medical terminology, patient care, and medication administration, with previous experience in hospital or pharmacy settings being highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, labeling medications, and tracking supplies
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions, offering medication guidance, and ensuring patient confidentiality
- Process prescriptions and update patient records with precision
- Support medication administration procedures under supervision, ensuring compliance with safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area to meet health and safety standards
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely medication delivery and patient support
Skills
- Prior experience in a retail pharmacy setting is preferred
- Knowledge of Fillware software is required. Proficiency in Tamil would be considered a strong asset.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Patient care skills with a compassionate approach to supporting diverse patient needs
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
