Estimator / Project Manager - Kitchener, ON
Our client is an established fabrication shop based in Kitchener, Ontario, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality custom structural steel and architectural metal fabrication services. Their expertise includes crafting stair systems, railings, platforms, mezzanines, and bespoke metal assemblies to meet diverse client needs.
Our client is looking for a Senior Estimator-Project Manager to join their trade teams in the Millwrighting & Rigging, Electrical, and Mechanical (Piping) trades.

Responsibilities
- Prepare estimates, manage projects, schedule tasks, track costs, and handle invoicing.
- Coordinate with clients, tradespeople, office and field staff, purchasing, health and safety teams, accounts payable/receivable, and tool management.
- Provide detailed written updates on project costs, schedules, change orders, and deliverables to ensure projects stay on track and within budget.
- Estimate material, labor, subcontractor, and equipment costs to prepare competitive and accurate quotes.
- Attend safety, training, sales, strategy, and other required meetings.
- Provide 24/7 availability to respond to customer needs, including off-hours and emergencies.
- Conduct site visits and job walks as necessary.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, employees, subcontractors, and potential customers.
- Visit job sites regularly to assess conditions.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of estimating experience.
- Skilled trades experience.
- Supervisory experience in the field is a strong asset.
- Practical knowledge of collective labor agreements and their application on job sites.
- Ability to read and interpret various technical drawings: structural steel, erection, architectural, electrical, process & instrument diagrams, and trade-specific drawings.
- Highly organized with strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Proficient in budgeting and financial resource management.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
