We're looking for a hands-on Logistics Coordinator to take responsibility for developing, coordinating, and executing domestic and international logistics activities to ensure the safe, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods while meeting customer delivery expectations. This role serves as the primary liaison between Trylon, carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to optimize freight spend, maintain regulatory compliance, and deliver industry-leading customer service and is accountable for transportation planning, carrier management, freight negotiations, customs documentation, shipment visibility, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance logistics performance and support business growth.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Book appointments with carriers for pickup and delivery. Schedule carriers for both incoming and outgoing loads, ensuring the most cost-effective solution and carrier available is secured.
- Creation and coordination of all supporting documents for all shipments, ensuring 100% accuracy, in alignment with the customer's expectations and requirements.
- Constant use of the company ERP (Visual) software system and custom Ship Request system.
- Constant use of the company shipping software to generate shipping documents including but not limited to C.I., BOL, packing list, and Certificate of Origin/Compliance, etc.
- Drive cost savings and build flexibility into the logistics plan by proactively evaluating routing, carrier, and scheduling options to optimize freight spend while maintaining on-time delivery.
- Manage tariffs and associated customs clearance costs, ensuring correct classification, duty optimization, and accurate cost forecasting for cross-border and international shipments.
- Source and qualify the best customs brokers and logistics partners, negotiating competitive rates and service levels to support efficient clearance and delivery.
- Ship according to Customs Import/Export requirements of the importing country and any customer-unique requirements.
- Track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and proactively advise internal stakeholders of changes to the shipment.
- Negotiate and maintain internal matrix pricing to ensure internal stakeholders have access to the most competitive / accurate freight pricing available.
- Review and approve carrier invoices (actual) against the quoted price received prior to booking.
- Project manage OS&D potential claims and cases for resolution and payment.
- Ensure that internal and external customers are treated with a high level of customer service.
- File all shipping documents and archive as applicable.
- Work with the accounting department to resolve freight invoice discrepancies on a monthly basis.

Education/Experience
- Successful completion of college-level Traffic and/or Logistics courses.
- 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing setting shipping internationally is preferred.
- Canadian International Freight Forwarders Certification preferred.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of International Customs requirements, Canadian Export requirements, the Harmonization Classification system, Valuation, CFIA, and INCO terms.
- Complete understanding and knowledge of International Customs requirements including International Commercial Invoices, Ocean Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, CAED (B13), Letters of Credit, Notarization and Legalization, Marine Insurance, and Letters of Intent to Claim.
- Good understanding and knowledge of US Customs requirements including Commercial Invoices, Inward Cargo Manifests, NAFTA Certificates, ACE Manifests, Harmonization Classification, FCC, FDA, NAFTA, ACE, and PARS, including creation and retention requirements.
- Understanding and working knowledge of various truck types including dimensional and weight restrictions.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of ocean containers (sizes & types), LCL, FCL, and aircraft pallets.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of methods of tracking and obtaining proof of deliveries (POD).
- Understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, and CAED B13 software.

Salary range for this position is expected to be between $55,000 and $65,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Candidates must be located in Canada and legally eligible to work here.
