Job Overview:
North Star Technical millwrights are involved in varied and challenging work both in the shop and at customer sites. Our diverse customer base provides the opportunity to work on equipment from a wide variety of industries.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Rebuild pumps, gearboxes, motors, drives etc.
- Assess condition of equipment, use measurement tools (micrometers and verniers) and make recommendations for repair of worn components
- Reverse engineer old parts to be able to rebuild new parts in house
- Work with other shop personnel such as machinists, welders, and balancing technicians to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements
- Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair machines (CNC and conventional lathes, milling machines and other facility equipment)
- Record information for inspection purposes
- Keep workspace clean and organized
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of industrial experience required
- Red Seal Industrial Millwright 433A certified is an asset
- Electrical or welding certifications are an asset
- Flexible with style of work (fresh and waste water, food, pulp and paper, manufacturing)
- Experience with complete rebuilds
- Able to read/interpret drawings
- Driver’s License required
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
