We're looking for an experienced Yard Associate to join our team—someone who takes pride in working safely, operating equipment confidently, and providing exceptional customer service.
This is not an entry-level position. We are seeking applicants with previous experience in lumber yards, building supply, warehousing, or industrial material handling who are comfortable operating forklifts, handling heavy materials, and working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Schedule
- Full-time, permanent position
- Year-round employment
- Working weekend days is required
What You'll Do
- Safely load and unload lumber, building materials, and bulk products
- Operate forklifts to move, stage, organize, and retrieve inventory throughout the yard
- Accurately prepare customer and contractor orders for pickup and delivery
- Assist customers with loading while providing friendly, knowledgeable service
- Receive, organize, and stock incoming product
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard environment
What We're Looking For (Required)
- Previous experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, building supply, or industrial material handling environment
- Strong forklift operating skills and confidence handling long, heavy, or awkward loads
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically capable of repetitive lifting and moving building materials throughout the day (50+ lbs)
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership or team lead experience
- Customer service experience, particularly serving contractors, builders, or tradespeople
- Knowledge of building materials and lumber products
- Forklift certification (or ability to become certified)
