About This Opportunity:
CPA Ontario is seeking a strategic and results-driven Vice-President, IT Operations to lead the organization's technology infrastructure, enterprise applications, and end-user support functions. Reporting to the EVP, Chief Information Security and Data Officer / Interim CIO, this executive leadership role is responsible for ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable technology services that enable the organization to deliver on its mission and strategic priorities.
As Vice-President, IT Operations, you will oversee infrastructure and cloud operations, enterprise application support, service management, vendor partnerships, and business continuity planning. You will play a critical role in shaping and executing IT Operations strategy while collaborating closely with leaders across Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, Data, and business teams to drive operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Lead and continuously improve infrastructure and cloud operations, ensuring the availability, performance, security, and scalability of enterprise technology environments.

Chair the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and oversee governance processes for technology changes and releases across IT teams.

Manage strategic vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and the IT Operations budget to maximize value and operational effectiveness.

Oversee enterprise application support and release management practices, ensuring reliable, timely, and high-quality technology delivery.

Direct IT service desk and end-user support functions, driving service excellence and the adoption of IT service management best practices.

Partner with IT and business leaders to align technology operations with organizational priorities, risk management requirements, and long-term strategic objectives.

Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing technology team through coaching, succession planning, workforce development, and performance management.

Lead disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives, including testing, readiness planning, and continuous improvement of recovery capabilities.

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and operational reporting to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
To Be Successful You Need:
-
10+ years of progressive experience in information technology, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing infrastructure, applications, and/or service operations.

Proven experience managing enterprise cloud and on-premises technology environments, including platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Hyper-V.

Demonstrated success leading enterprise application support, DevOps, and release management functions.

Experience implementing and advancing IT service management (ITSM/ITIL) practices and delivering exceptional service desk operations.

Strong experience managing technology vendors, contracts, and budgets.

Experience developing, maintaining, and testing disaster recovery and business continuity programs.

Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing technical teams within complex environments.

Collaborative leadership style with a focus on accountability, innovation, and team development.

Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and risk management capabilities.

ITIL Foundation certification (or higher).

PMP or other project/program management certification.

Cloud certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
