JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Banquet Manager, the Banquet Captain leads the banquet team in creating welcoming, well-executed experiences for Tigh-Na-Mara guests.
This hands-on leadership role provides direction and support to Team Members throughout set-up, service, and tear-down while coordinating with kitchen and event teams to keep service running smoothly.
The Banquet Captain also provides food and beverage service and helps ensure event spaces are organized, prepared, and maintained to a high standard.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the banquet team during event set-up, service, and tear-down, assigning tasks and providing support throughout the event.
- Review event details and service requirements to ensure the team is prepared for each event.
- Provide clear direction and communicate event details, timing, and service expectations to Team Members.
- Deliver exceptional food and beverage service while ensuring service standards are consistently met.
- Coordinate with kitchen, event, and banquet teams to support seamless event execution.
- Monitor the flow and timing of service, adjusting priorities and providing support as needed.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and concerns, escalating matters when appropriate.
- Ensure banquet and service areas are clean, safe, organized, stocked, and ready for use.
- Help identify and communicate operational needs, service concerns, and relevant guest feedback to the Banquet Manager.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment while contributing to a welcoming and memorable guest experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Available to work a flexible full-time schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Valid Serving It Right certification is required.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Detail-oriented, with a positive attitude that contributes to a healthy, friendly, and supportive workplace.
- Professional, approachable, and committed to providing exceptional guest service.
- Able to work efficiently, prioritize tasks, and remain organized in a fast-paced event environment.
- Reliable, flexible, and confident providing direction while working collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and the ability to respond calmly and professionally to changing event needs and guest requests.
- Able to stand for extended periods and safely lift, carry, and move trays, banquet supplies, and equipment as required.
- Previous banquet, restaurant, hospitality, or team leadership experience is considered an asset.
COMPENSATION
$20.50 - $26.20 per hour + gratuities
