Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Sales Engineer and Technician to join our team specializing in logic board repair, micro-soldering, and data recovery. This hybrid role combines hands-on electronics repair with customer consultation, estimating, technical sales, and account management. The successful candidate will diagnose complex hardware failures, provide repair and recovery solutions, and help grow our business through exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Repair & Diagnostics
- Diagnose and repair logic board and motherboard failures for laptops, desktops, smartphones, tablets, and other electronic devices.
- Perform board-level troubleshooting and component-level repairs.
- Conduct diagnostics for liquid-damaged, no-power, and intermittent fault devices.
- Utilize schematics, board-view software, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
- Assist with SSD, HDD, NVMe, RAID, and flash-based data recovery projects.
- Document repair procedures, findings, and outcomes accurately.
Technical Sales & Customer Support
- Consult with customers regarding device failures, repair options, and data recovery services.
- Explain technical issues and recommended solutions in a clear and professional manner.
- Prepare quotations, estimates, and service recommendations.
- Follow up on customer inquiries, quotations, and completed services.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Account Management & Business Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with consumers, business clients, IT providers, and managed service providers (MSPs).
- Identify opportunities for additional services and recurring business.
- Promote company services, including:
- Logic board repair
- Micro-soldering services
- Apple MacBook repair
- SSD/HDD/NVMe/RAID data recovery
- Liquid damage repair
- Enterprise and emergency data recovery
- Support marketing and business development initiatives.
Operational Support
- Assist with customer intake, triage, and job prioritization.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Maintain accurate service records using CRM and ticket management systems.
- Adhere to company quality standards and data security procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience in electronics repair, board-level diagnostics, or data recovery.
- Strong understanding of:
- Logic board and motherboard architecture
- Apple and PC hardware platforms
- Storage technologies (SSD, HDD, NVMe, RAID)
- Data recovery processes and limitations
- Experience with micro-soldering and component-level repair is preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical customers.
- Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and multitasking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience repairing logic boards.
- Knowledge of board-view and schematic software.
- Experience with micro-soldering tools and rework stations.
- Previous sales, account management, or customer service experience.
- Familiarity with CRM, ERP, or ticket management systems.
Education
- Diploma or Degree in one of the following is preferred:
- Electronics Engineering Technology
- Computer Engineering Technology
- Electrical Engineering Technology
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Electronics Technician Program
- Equivalent combination of education, industry certifications, and relevant work experience will be considered.
Preferred Certifications (Assets)
- Apple hardware repair certifications or equivalent experience
- Micro-soldering or board-level repair training
- CompTIA A+ (asset)
- CompTIA Network+ (asset)
- Data recovery or digital forensics certifications (asset)
- IPC soldering certification (asset)
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in electronics repair, logic board repair, or computer hardware diagnostics.
- Experience with Apple MacBook, iMac, Mac Mini, Mac Studio, and Windows-based systems.
- Knowledge of:
- Board-level diagnostics and micro-soldering
- Schematics and board-view software
- SSD, HDD, NVMe, and RAID technologies
- Data recovery workflows
- Experience using diagnostic equipment such as:
- Digital multimeters
- Oscilloscopes
- Hot air rework stations
- Micro-soldering equipment

Job Type: 30 hour +
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend support as required
Location: On-site – Ontario/ KW area
Experience:
- Electronics Repair: 3 years (preferred)
- Microsoldering/Board-Level Repair: 3 year (preferred)
- Customer Service or Technical Sales: 3 year (preferred)
Pay: $36.00 per hour
