CIP Modular is currently looking for a Carpenter or Apprentice Carpenter to join our team based in Nanaimo. This role requires a flexible worker who is comfortable working both in our manufacturing facility and on our construction job sites. Must be able to work out of town for shifts of 21/7
Experience in modular construction is an asset, but is not required.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine framing requirements
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials according to specifications
- Erection and placement of Concrete foundations
- Perform structural framing including layout, assembly, and installation of walls, floors, and roof systems
- Installation of windows, doors, exterior and interior finishes
- Erect building, decks, wheel chair ramps and stairs.
- Work collaboratively with crew members and site supervisors
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in construction or carpentry
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks'
- Valid class 5 drivers license
- Personal hand tools
- Ability to work out of town when required
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Motivated and hard working
- Willing to complete a criminal record check
