Primary Responsibilities: Administrative & Program Support
Hours of work: 100% of full time (35 hours/week)
Bargaining Unit: CUPE 3012, In-scope
Location: SCIC Office, Regina
SCIC is looking for an ambitious and eager summer student who is looking to enhance their administrative skills as a Program & Office Associate, while working with an organization that builds momentum towards a more just and sustainable world. This summer position provides practical experience in office coordination, records and file management, light financial administration, inbox oversight, and program support.
Office Support & Digital File Administration (50%)
- Assist with digital file organization;
- Support content digitization, migration, and cataloging material;
- Research grant opportunities to support business development;
- Support reduction of office items no longer needed.
Program Support (25%)
- Support coordinating logistics and registrations for SCICs public engagement events;
- Assist with promotion and outreach to potential participants;
- Keep track of registrants and their information/accessibility requirements;
- Monitor data/survey collection from both participants and facilitators;
- Support public engagement and capacity building events as needed;
- Support any other public engagement activities as needed.
Membership & Engagement Support (25%)
- Research the international development sector in Saskatchewan and develop a database of civil society organizations and private sector entities involved in global justice and the Sustainable Development Goals;
- Research intersectional gender equality topics and compile resources and potential partners.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:
- Requirements:
- Age between 16 and 30 years at employment start
- Current post-secondary student studying business administration, office administration, public administration, or a related field
- Adaptability - The ability to achieve or adjust goals and behaviours when expected or unexpected change occurs, by planning, staying focused, persisting, and overcoming setbacks;
- Collaboration - The ability to contribute and support others to achieve a common goal;
- Communication - The ability to receive, understand, consider, and share information and ideas through speaking, listening, and interacting with others;
- Creativity and Innovation - The ability to imagine, develop, express, encourage, and apply ideas in ways that are novel, unexpected, or challenge existing methods and norms;
- Digital Skills - The ability to use digital tools (including Google Workspace & Microsoft Office Suite) to find, manage, apply, create, and share information and content;
- Problem-Solving - The ability to identify, analyze, propose solutions, and make decisions. Problem-solving helps you to address issues, monitor success, and learn from the experience.
