As part of the opening team, you will play an integral role in shaping the culture, service standards, and guest experience of one of Niagara's most exciting seasonal destinations.
Position Summary
The Terrace at the Clayfield Hotel is seeking experienced and hospitality-driven Full-Time Servers who are passionate about creating energetic, memorable guest experiences.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while delivering polished and genuine hospitality. They operate from a "place of yes," approaching every guest interaction with confidence, enthusiasm, flexibility, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience & Service Excellence
- Deliver warm, engaging, and personalized service throughout every guest interaction.
- Create memorable experiences that capture the energy and atmosphere of The Terrace.
- Anticipate guest needs while maintaining an approachable and professional presence.
- Execute service standards consistent with upscale hospitality.
- Confidently guide guests through cocktails, wines, beer selections, shareable plates, and seasonal features.
- Promote signature cocktails and beverage pairings.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure every guest leaves wanting to return.
Food & Beverage Knowledge
- Develop a thorough understanding of all cocktails, wines, spirits, beers, and menu offerings.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Stay current on seasonal features and promotions.
- Participate in ongoing beverage and service training.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for Niagara's food, wine, and cocktail culture.
Operational Excellence
- Execute all steps of service according to established standards.
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organization throughout the Terrace.
- Accurately process orders using the POS system.
- Complete opening, closing, and side work efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with culinary, bar, hotel, and leadership teams.
- Participate actively in daily pre-shift meetings and training sessions.
- Help maintain the vibrant atmosphere that defines The Terrace experience.

Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of serving experience in upscale restaurants, premium casual dining, hotels, lounges, or cocktail-focused venues.
- Strong food, wine, cocktail, and beverage knowledge.
- Previous experience in patio, lounge, or high-volume service is considered an asset.
- Smart Serve Certification required.
- WSET certification or cocktail education is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to carry trays and perform repetitive service tasks.
- Ability to work efficiently in an outdoor, high-volume hospitality environment.
