Located on Victoria’s beautiful inner harbour, we are a Preferred hotel home to the gorgeous Fathom Restaurant and Lounge, the cozy Courtyard Café, and beautiful function spaces.
An adaptable and hands-on individual, the assistant banquet manager will support the restaurant, room service, banquet and cafe teams, working with department managers to ensure operations run smoothly.

As an Assistant Banquets Manager, you would perform the following duties:
Duties:
- Supervise food & beverage outlets in the absence of the department manager(s).
- Monitor food & beverage quality before service to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Ensure professional and efficient service is provided to all guests.
- Professionally and promptly respond to escalated guest complaints or concerns.
- Assist with event set up, hosting, and serving as required.
- Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, training, and coaching of food & beverage employees.
- Assist with preparing staff schedules and submitting time sheets to payroll.
- Assist with inventory control.
- Other duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager or designate.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 3 years of recent supervisory experience in food & beverage, ideally including within a hotel environment
- Experience with Banquet functions
- Must have valid Serving it Right and Food Safe Certification
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Committed to providing exceptional guest experiences
- Proven coaching skills and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working in a high-volume environment and able to adapt to changing demands
- Able to maintain exceptional standards of personal presentation
- Professional and accountable, with a high level of integrity
- Hospitality Management degree/diploma an asset.
