Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and organized Logistics Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong communication skills, and can efficiently coordinate drivers and loads to keep operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch drivers for daily loads across BC, Washington, and Oregon
- Plan and optimize routes to maximize efficiency and on-time delivery
- Communicate with drivers, brokers, shippers, and receivers throughout the day
- Track trucks and loads in real time and provide status updates
- Source and book loads using load boards and broker relationships
- Handle cross-border documentation and ensure compliance with all customs requirements
- Respond to and resolve any issues or delays that arise during transit
- Maintain accurate records of loads, driver logs, and trip details
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients
Qualifications
- Previous experience in transportation dispatch or logistics (1–2 years preferred)
- Knowledge of cross-border freight between Canada and the US is a strong asset
- Familiarity with load boards (e.g., DAT, LoadLink) is an asset
- Strong communication skills — both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficient with computers and comfortable learning new software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
