Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and carrying out the organization's human resources function, ensuring effective people management and supporting the achievement of organizational goals. The Human Resources Manager provides both strategic and operational HR leadership while balancing day-to-day employee relations, performance management, policy administration, and advisory services with longer-term initiatives such as policy development, manager coaching, workforce planning, and organizational development.

They operate with a high degree of integrity, neutrality, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive information and complex workplace matters and are committed to supporting both organizational objectives and employee well-being.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Ensure organizational compliance with employment regulations (Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Act, Workers Compensation Legislation).
- Coordinate and support employee performance management processes, including performance reviews, development planning, and progressive discipline.
- Conduct procedurally fair workplace investigations and provide recommendations regarding findings and appropriate corrective action.
- Provide administrative support for HR related tasks such as preparing reports, HR inquiries and data.
- Support full-cycle recruitment process including the posting of job ads, applicant screening, assisting with interviews and supporting the hiring manager with the hiring and onboarding process.
- Supervise HR Administrator and provide guidance and training on HR Administration including, employee onboarding, the maintenance of accurate and up-to date employee records, etc.; and
- Other duties, as required.
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Executive Director and leadership team to develop and implement human resources strategies that support organizational goals and workforce needs.
- Develop and implement policies and support consistent application and training across the organization.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on human resources policies, procedures and best practices.
- Support employee development and training initiatives, including identifying training needs, coordinating training programs and evaluating effectiveness.
- Provide leadership and guidance in HR best practices.
- Stay informed about human resources trends and best practices to provide proactive recommendations and continuous improvement of the human resources processes.
- Other duties, as required.
Qualifications
- CPHR Certification an asset for hiring.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years’ progressive HR experience.
- Must have experience with employee relations, such as performance management, investigations, progressive discipline.
- Must be a self starter and must work well autonomously.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Pay: $90,000.00-$124,000.00 per year
