I am seeking a Contract Grant Writer & Editor to assist with developing and refining funding applications for community art programs, children’s art workshops, mural projects, and related arts and community initiatives.
The successful candidate will help turn project ideas into clear, compelling grant applications and provide editing and writing support for applications to arts, cultural, and community funding programs.
Responsibilities
- Review, edit, and strengthen grant applications for clarity, organization, and alignment with funder guidelines.
- Assist with writing project descriptions, artist statements, community impact sections, and funding narratives.
- Research relevant arts, cultural, and community funding opportunities.
- Assist with preparing grant budgets and supporting application materials.
- Help ensure applications are complete, clear, and submitted according to applicable deadlines and guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Experience writing or editing grant applications, preferably in the arts, culture, community, or nonprofit sectors.
- Ability to translate creative projects and ideas into clear and persuasive written proposals.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines.
- Familiarity with Canadian arts and community funding programs is an asset.
- Knowledge of programs offered by organizations such as the Canada Council for the Arts or Ontario Arts Council is an asset.
- Education or professional experience in English, Communications, Writing, Arts Administration, or a related field is an asset.
