Position Overview
As our Human Resources Manager, you will serve as the People and Culture leader for our Vancouver office. With a strong focus on building scalable HRIS systems, driving employee engagement, and promoting leadership development, you will work closely with our Executive Leadership to support organizational goals and people strategies. In this role, you will champion a compliant, connected, and highly engaged workplace by perfectly balancing daily operational excellence with long-term strategic people initiatives.
Key Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive human resources experience, including at least 2–3 years in a senior-level HR role with increasing complexity, scope and responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (or related field) and a CPHR designation (or actively working toward one).
- Experience in engineering, infrastructure, transportation, or project-based organizations is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential employee matters, including performance management, workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, and terminations.
- Proven ability to research, develop, and implement HR policies, programs, and procedures compliant with employment standards, human rights, and workplace safety legislation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to foster positive, collaborative relationships at all levels.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with a high degree of accountability and sound judgment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and experience with payroll processing software.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage onsite HR operations and serve as a core strategic advisor to Executive Leadership, architecting scalable workforce planning, organizational design, and talent pipeline strategies.
- Research, draft, and implement effective HR policies, programs, and procedures to ensure strict compliance with BC employment legislation, human rights, and workplace safety standards.
- Manage the comprehensive employee lifecycle, including strategic talent acquisition, onboarding, conflict resolution, offboarding, and maintenance of employee records and leave administration.
- Administer payroll processes, benefits administration, compensation reviews, and salary benchmarking while continually expanding and upgrading scalable HRIS systems.
- Lead strategic, forward-looking organizational development initiatives, including the creation of job descriptions, career pathways, succession planning, and workforce planning frameworks.
- Champion employee engagement, recognition, and workplace culture initiatives while managing workplace investigations and disciplinary processes, ensuring organizational compliance with WorkSafeBC, human rights, and joint health and safety standards.
