Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Respite Support Workers to provide essential care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, and mobility support for clients with disabilities, seniors, or individuals with special needs.
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed guidelines and safety protocols.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding as needed.
- Support clients with daily activities such as light housekeeping, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to supervising healthcare professionals or family members.
- Assist with transfers, heavy lifting, and mobility support to ensure safety during movement.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation or distress.
- Follow care plans accurately and document services provided in accordance with agency policies.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, senior care, or home care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, medication administration, dementia care, and caregiving best practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and compassionate demeanor.
- Ability to work independently while following established care protocols.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as needed.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not required; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
