Overview
We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused Bakery Salesperson to join our team. This role involves engaging with customers, promoting our bakery products, and providing exceptional service in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for baked goods, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail sales or merchandising are highly valued to enhance customer interactions and drive sales.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting bakery items, ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Provide product demonstrations and educate customers about our offerings to encourage sales and upselling opportunities
- Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling, transactions, and receipts
- Maintain organized product displays and ensure merchandise is well-stocked and visually appealing
- Handle cashiering duties including processing payments, giving change, and managing refunds
- Engage with customers using excellent phone etiquette and communication skills to answer questions or provide information
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve multiple customers efficiently
- Uphold cleanliness and organization standards in the sales area at all times
- Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment as needed
Experience
- Prior experience in retail sales, merchandising, or customer service is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Multilingual abilities or bilingual skills (e.g., English and Spanish) are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, basic math skills, and phone etiquette is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and the ability to upsell products will contribute to success in this role
- Excellent communication skills, friendliness, and a professional demeanor are essential for creating a welcoming environment for all customers
Pay: $18.25-$19.00 per hour
