Position Summary
The Receiver / Order filler & Warehouse associate is responsible for coordinating receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, warehouse organization, and material handling within our warehouse environment.This position works closely with the Warehouse, Production, Logistics, Sales, Purchasing, Administration, and Management teams to ensure materials are received, inspected, organized, tracked, and made available when required.
The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, a high level of attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others. Experience with inventory control, warehouse operations, receiving, manufacturing, or architectural building materials is an asset.
Job ResponsibilitiesReceiving & Material Handling
- Operate a forklift or other material-handling equipment to move materials safely(required).
- Receive, inspect, and unload incoming shipments.
- Verify materials, purchase orders, packing slips, and shipment documentation.
- Identify and document shortages, damaged materials, or discrepancies.
- Organize and transfer materials from receiving areas to the appropriate storage locations.
- Direct delivery trucks and assist with loading and unloading when required.
- Ensure all received materials are properly identified, tagged, and stored.
Inventory Control & Organization
- Sort, count, identify, verify, and track materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records
- Conduct regular material audits and cycle counts.
- Identify and report inventory discrepancies to management.
- Monitor materials to ensure they are properly maintained, undamaged, and organized.
- Support warehouse practices where applicable.
- Maintain accurate inventory documentation and records.
Order Fulfillment & Warehouse Operations
- Pull and prepare materials for customer orders, shipments, deliveries.
- Check, tag, and route materials to the appropriate department or location.
- Update order notes and online order systems.
- Ensure all items are picked accurately and completely.
- Coordinate with Logistics, Production, Receiving, Customer Service, and other departments to ensure order accuracy.
- Assist with customer pickups and provide professional customer service when required.
- Track shipments and follow up to help ensure timely delivery.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment throughout the Warehouse and Production areas.
- Follow all company safety rules, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse and work environment.
- Assist management with recycling and the proper disposal of materials.
- Ensure warehouse paperwork, records, and files are properly organized and maintained.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3 years of related warehouse, receiving, inventory, or manufacturing experience required.
- Valid forklift certification and practical forklift experience required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly throughout the workday.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following company policies and procedures.
- Experience in architectural products, building materials, manufacturing, or a similar environment is an asset.
