Journeyman Electrician – Oilfield (Shaunavon, SK)
Crossroads is hiring an experienced Journeyman Electrician to support our growing operations in Southwest Saskatchewan. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can troubleshoot complex electrical systems, support customers in the field, lead crews, and deliver safe, high-quality work across upstream and midstream oil & gas facilities.
What You'll Do
- Execute and lead electrical installations across wellsites, compressor stations, batteries, facilities, and other oilfield infrastructure
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, commissioning, and startup support on upstream and midstream electrical systems
- Install and maintain cable tray, conduit, cable, MCC equipment, control panels, motors, and instrumentation devices
- Troubleshoot and repair common oilfield electrical equipment including VFDs, electric motors, heat trace systems, switchgear, PLCs, RTUs, and instrumentation
- Lead and mentor crews of electricians and apprentices while maintaining a safe and productive work environment
- Coordinate daily site activities with customers to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
- Communicate directly with customers on project progress, timelines, and technical solutions
- Complete QA/QC documentation, job reporting, and ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical code
- Review drawings, scopes of work, and execution plans to support successful project delivery
- Assist with estimating small projects and field-level planning
What You Bring (Must-Have)
- Journeyman Electrician certification
- 5–10 years of upstream or midstream oil & gas electrical experience
- Strong experience with oilfield electrical construction, maintenance, commissioning, and startup
- Experience working with:
- Gas and refrigeration compressors
- VFD packages
- MCC sections
- Separator packages
- Dehydrators
- Line heaters
- Electric motors
- Heat trace systems
- Switchgear
- PLCs and RTUs
- Oilfield instrumentation
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in operating oilfield environments
- Ability to navigate to field locations using UWI and LSD coordinates
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
- Must be a Canadian Citizen currently residing within one hour of Shaunavon or willing to relocate within three months
- Willingness to travel as required
- Strong communication skills and proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, BlueBeam, and common web-based software
Nice to Have
- Electrical estimating experience
- Instrumentation experience or dual E&I ticket
- Experience programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLC, RTU, SCADA, and communications systems
- Strong local network within the trades and oilfield community
- CSTS or ESTS
- Fall Arrest Certification
- Elevated Work Platform Certification
