Expand Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting a Maintenance Technician for PM SHIFT for a busy manufacturing facility in the Lower Mainland.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment and is looking to build their career in industrial/manufacturing maintenance.
The company is looking for someone who understands a production environment, is comfortable working around machinery and can assist with basic maintenance, adjustments, troubleshooting and machine operation.
This is not an entry-level position for someone with no exposure to manufacturing. However, extensive maintenance experience is not required.
Candidates with approximately 6 months to 1 year of relevant manufacturing/maintenance experience will be considered.
The position is initially temporary, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic maintenance and adjustments on production machinery.
- Assist with troubleshooting machine issues and production equipment.
- Perform routine checks and inspections of machinery.
- Assist with preventive maintenance activities.
- Make basic mechanical adjustments to machines.
- Perform manual inputs and adjustments on production machines as required.
- Monitor equipment during production and report unusual noises, performance issues or potential breakdowns.
- Assist with machine changeovers and setup adjustments.
- Work with production staff to identify and address equipment issues.
- Use basic hand tools and power tools safely.
- Assist senior maintenance personnel with repairs and maintenance projects.
- Keep maintenance areas, tools and equipment organized.
- Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing protocols.
- Complete basic maintenance documentation and communicate issues to the supervisor.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as required.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who has practical, hands-on manufacturing experience and is comfortable working around production equipment.
Experience
- Approximately 6 months–1 year of manufacturing or maintenance experience is acceptable.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing, production, food production, packaging or similar plant environment is preferred.
- Experience working around production machinery is important.
- Experience with basic machine adjustments and troubleshooting is an asset.
- Experience performing manual inputs or adjustments on machines is preferred.
- Candidates with more experience are welcome to apply.
You do not need to be a Red Seal Millwright or electrician for this position.
We are primarily looking for someone with good hands-on experience, mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
Important Qualifications

Certifications
No Red Seal certification is required.
No electrician certification is required.
Electrical certification is not required for this position. Basic exposure to electrical components and machine controls is considered an asset, but the successful candidate will not be expected to perform work requiring an electrical trade certification.

Experience in a facility similar to a large food or chocolate manufacturing plant would be especially valuable because the candidate will be working around production machinery and a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- Afternoon shift
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- Periodic overtime may be required
- Must be available to work additional hours when production or maintenance requirements arise
Compensation
$26.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Candidates with stronger hands-on manufacturing maintenance experience may be considered toward the higher end of the range.
Overtime opportunities may be available.
Temporary-to-Permanent Opportunity
The position will initially be temporary, but there is potential for the successful candidate to transition into a permanent position.
