Dental Receptionist
We are looking for a friendly, organized, and experienced Dental Receptionist to join our caring and professional dental team. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, dependable, able to multitask, and comfortable working in a busy dental environment. Our office has proudly served the community for four generations of dentists since the 1960s, and we’re known for our welcoming atmosphere, loyal long-term patients, and drama-free, supportive team.
Position Details:
- Part-time- transition to full time 2-3 days per week (Saturdays required)
- On-site training available for the right candidate
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of dental reception experience
- Strong English proficiency with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities
- Patient-focused, professional, and compassionate attitude
- Reliable and able to take initiative when needed
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- A team player who contributes to a positive, respectful, and efficient work environment
- Experience with Open Dental is an asset; training can be provided if needed
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in a friendly, professional, and caring manner
- Schedule and coordinate appointments for dentists and hygienists
- Manage the daily schedule efficiently, including confirmations, cancellations, and rescheduling
- Process billing, dental insurance claims, pre-authorizations, and patient payments
- Answer phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries courteously and efficiently
- Verify and update patient and insurance information
- Maintain accurate patient records using Open Dental
- Communicate treatment and appointment information clearly to patients
- Work closely with dentists, hygienists, assistants, and other front-desk team members
- Assist with general front-desk and administrative duties as required
