Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS) platform. This role partners directly with Trading, Portfolio Management, Portfolio Compliance, and Technology teams to deliver business analysis, workflow optimization, system enhancements, and production support across the investment lifecycle.
The ideal candidate combines strong investment operations knowledge with hands-on business analysis experience supporting Charles River or another institutional Order Execution Management System (OEMS).
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis
- Gather and document business requirements from Trading, Portfolio Management, Compliance, and Operations teams.
- Conduct process analysis, workflow mapping, and gap assessments.
- Develop functional requirements, use cases, user stories, process flows, and business documentation.
- Maintain traceability between business requirements and technical solutions.
Charles River (CRIMS) Configuration
- Support configuration and enhancement of the Charles River Investment Management System.
- Configure and maintain:
- Manager Workbench
- Trading blotters
- Trade workflows
- Compliance rules
- Instrument defaults
- User permissions
- Batch imports
- Import/export mappings
- Data validation rules
- Custom trade file integrations
Project Delivery
- Partner with internal technology teams, Charles River Development, and third-party vendors.
- Support new implementations, upgrades, patches, and production releases.
- Ensure business requirements are translated into scalable technical solutions.
Testing & Production Support
- Coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and regression testing.
- Perform issue triage, root cause analysis, and production support for critical trading and compliance processes.
- Validate production changes prior to deployment.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the liaison between business users and technology teams.
- Communicate project status, risks, and implementation updates.
- Collaborate effectively across multiple teams and geographic locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 4+ years of Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Technical Analyst experience supporting investment management or investment operations.
- Experience supporting Charles River (CRIMS) or another institutional Order Execution Management System (OEMS).
- Strong understanding of:
- Trading lifecycle

- Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Proven ability to work with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years supporting Charles River or other OEMS platforms.
- Experience working directly with Charles River Development.
- SQL experience.
- C#/.NET knowledge.
- Experience supporting global teams across multiple time zones.
- Experience supporting production releases and critical trading environments.
