Position Overview:
We are seeking Project Coordinators to support the delivery of the Trades Up, Move Up program. This role focuses on engaging job seekers, particularly from underrepresented communities, to help build a diverse and inclusive skilled trades workforce across Ontario.
This is a remote position; however, candidates must be based in the Sudbury region.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordination of program events and activities
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
- Assist in promoting events through social media, communications materials, and website updates
- Support the delivery of training, and engagement activities
- Coordinate participant registration using platforms such as Eventbrite or JotForm
- Track participation targets and support efforts to meet or exceed program goals
- Provide regular updates to the Project Manager to ensure timelines and deliverables are met
- Travel across the region (and occasionally across the province) to support program delivery, including overnight travel for up to one week.
- Help evaluate program effectiveness and contribute to continuous improvement and innovation
Qualifications & Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Event Management or equivalent experience in event coordination
- Lived experience as a member of an underrepresented community is considered an asset
- Interest or knowledge of skilled trades and technology careers is an asset
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Experience working with community partners and external stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel as required
- Must provide a clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Strong communication skills in English (written and oral); French is an asset
