Shift: Monday to Friday - Afternoons (3:15pm - 11:45pm)
Position Summary:
The Deburr/ Clean-Up Operator is responsible for performing precision finishing and deburring operations on machined, fabricated, and formed components/parts used in the manufacture of aerostructures.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, excess material, and surface imperfections from components and assemblies.
- Finish and blend surfaces on machined, fabricated, and formed metal parts to required specifications.
- Clean up components and subassemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Utilize hand tools, pneumatic tools, grinders, files, rotary tools, abrasive materials, and polishing equipment.
- Verifying work processes and quantity to Work order
- Responsible for visually inspecting material for defects or quality issues prior to clean up;
- Grind and/or vibrate parts to remove burrs and grain parts as required by drawing requirements
- Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and conformance to customer and aerospace standards.
- Work with quality department to ensure that parts are correct; Make adjustments as necessary to produce product within specifications; Reject product outside of specifications.
- Transfer information and knowledge across shifts as required; Work as a team to ensure completion of product in a timely manner.
- Transport parts to next Workstation
- Log work order completion using company ERP system (Visual)
- Complete production documentation and accurately record quality and manufacturing data.
- Clean and maintain work area by supporting 6S program.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and workplace organization.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualification & Requirements:
- 1-2 years' manufacturing experience preferably aerospace
- Deburring experience an asset
- Demonstrated mechanical capabilities/aptitude; using various hand tools/air tools/ power tools etc.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to read blueprints
- Excellent attention to detail, hand-eye coordination
Security Clearance Required:
The successful candidate will be required to successfully complete a security screening in accordance with the Controlled Goods Program of Canada.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
