Our client, a government entity in Saskatchewan, Canada, needs the services of a Privacy Resource(s), to support both the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General and the Ministry of Community Safety to implement project-based IT solutions that are privacy-informed by surfacing privacy risks and crafting mitigation strategies. The resource will be required to conduct privacy analyses and write Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) reports. The Privacy Resource, will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Participate in core team meetings to ensure the privacy perspective remains prevalent throughout the course of all projects.
- Solicit and elicit administrative, technical, and physical information from subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Think critically about systems, legislative duties, safeguards, and access controls to protect personal information.
- Review project approaches, procedures, policies, associated materials, and safeguards to provide SMEs input and observations.
- Review and advise on implementations as needed.
- Conduct comprehensive Privacy Impact Assessments.
- Revise PIAs prior to implementation.
- Create addendums to PIAs after implementation.
Mandatory Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience of direct responsibility for the development and delivery of Privacy Impact Assessments for a complex and/or multi-system technology solution within the last 5 years.
- Demonstrated working experience with Saskatchewan’s privacy legislation, or comparable entity, and with Federal and Provincial privacy laws and requirements.
- Demonstrated working experience with the Saskatchewan’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
Other Required experience:
- Demonstrated working experience with the Government of Saskatchewan or comparable entities, as it relates to the technical and business landscape.
- Demonstrated working experience with Federal and Saskatchewan privacy laws and requirements.
- Demonstrated experience of performing research and analysis used to inform recommendations to advance privacy protection.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing project initiatives to identify information access, privacy issues and opportunities (e.g., duplication of data, security, and privacy, enhance the quality and use of information within government).
- Demonstrated familiarity with criminal justice system, correctional settings, and applicable laws, inclusive to both adult and youth cases and custody
- Demonstrated experience successfully working in a multiple project environment with an ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Demonstrated working experience with information security policies, standards, methods, and best practices.
Pay: From $70.00 per hour
