Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality patient care to residents in a home like setting. Ensuring their comfort, well-being and maintaining independence.
Schedule
- 12 hour shift
- morning shift (0700-1900)
- Night shift (1900-0700)
- Weekends as needed
Responsibilities
- Assist and supervise 6 residents with activities of daily living (ADL's), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Perform light daily house keeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
- Encourage and supports residents in completing individually daily household task to promote independence.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance quality of life and well-being.
- Monitor and record vital signs, complete charting/documentation, and promptly reporting any changes in residents conditions to management.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medication management in compliance with care plans.
- Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and physical exercises, including using mechanical lift.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and infection-control standards in residents living areas.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred, particularly in nursing homes or assisted living environments. Special preference to past experience working with ABI clients.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and best practices for patient care.
- Ability to perform safe use of mechanical lift and assist patients with mobility challenges.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Compassionate with a genuine interest in providing quality care for patients.
- Certification as a Health Care Aide or equivalent training is an asset but not required.
- Medication administration training (Available onsite training), (Medication administration trained is an asset)
- Clear criminal record check
- First Aid and CPR certified
- WHMIS and Food Safe certified
- Flexibility to work 12 hour shifts including holidays
- Must have a reliable car for transportation. (No local transit available in the area)

Pay: From $23.75 per hour
