Male Caregiver (Autism Support) – Temporary Summer Position

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and confident male caregiver to support a high-needs child on the autism spectrum in a private family cottage located in Tiny, Ontario. This is a temporary position through the end of the summer.
The successful candidate will work alongside a Behaviour Therapist to help implement behavioural support strategies while ensuring the child’s safety during episodes of self-injurious and aggressive behaviours.
Position Details
- Pay: $40.00 per hour
- Schedule: Approximately 36 hours per week
- Shifts: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 8:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. (12-hour overnight shifts)
- Location: Private family cottage in Tiny, ON (outside the GTA)
- Start Date: July 17 (Immediate Hire)
- Duration: Temporary through the end of summer

Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support for a child with high support needs related to Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Work collaboratively with the Behaviour Therapist and family.
- Safely implement behaviour support plans.
- Provide physical management during episodes of self-injurious or aggressive behaviour using CPI-approved techniques.
- Promote safety, dignity, and emotional regulation.
- Complete shift documentation and communicate effectively with the care team.
Required Qualifications
- Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, particularly individuals with high support needs.
- Experience managing aggressive and self-injurious behaviours.
- Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification (mandatory).
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR Certification (mandatory).
- Recent Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (mandatory).
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal vehicle (required).
- Professional, dependable, patient, and physically able to safely implement CPI interventions when necessary.
