Job Summary

With 13 growing locations across the GTA and expansion continuing, we are looking for a Bookkeeper to help scale our impact and strengthen our teams.
The Ideal candidate will be well-organized and comfortable dealing with detailed financial data. This individual will be responsible for processing payroll, accounts payable & receivable, HST and Payroll Tax submissions as well as other tasks related to bookkeeping/ accounting/ administration or have the opportunity to gain exposure and experience to the field to advance their career and grow on your transferable skills. They should also be excellent at recording data and reviewing documents while keeping files neat and routinely organized.
Experience That Would Be Valuable
- Multi-location business experience preferred
- Experience with franchise organizations is an asset
- Experience in service-based businesses is an asset
- Experience managing multiple corporations is an asset
Specific Responsibilities (KPI’s)
- Departmentalizing income/expenses, reconciling bank statements & credit card statements weekly.
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll with 100% accuracy
- Prepare and maintain quarterly Cash Flow forecasts
- Prepare month-end financial statements by the 15th day of the following month.
- Prepare year-end closing process including preparing accrual journal entries and GL account reconciliations with less than 1% errors requiting correction
- Have full cycle accounting experience including AP, AR, Bank/Credit Card/Prepaids.
- Prepare and file all CRA returns such as HST and payroll taxes
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- An accounting designation would be an asset but not mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a full-cycle Accountant or Bookkeeper.
- Experience in all accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, month-end and year-end close and preparation of all financial statements.
- Comfortable with calling clients to collect overdue receivables.
- Strong knowledge of the Quick Books Online accounting software.
- Proficient with Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
- Experience with POS or membership software is an asset
- Good attitude and high level of personal initiative.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong skillset in organization and office administration
