The Hamlet of Tulita is seeking a motivated and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Public Works team. This is an exciting opportunity to build a rewarding career while enjoying northern living in a welcoming community.

Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, inspection, and general upkeep of all Hamlet-owned facilities and infrastructure, including the Municipal Office, Cultural Centre, Arena, Swimming Pool, Public Works facilities, Hamlet-owned housing units, and other municipal buildings.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on municipal buildings and equipment.
- Complete carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical, and minor electrical repairs.
- Inspect facilities and identify maintenance requirements.
- Operate hand and power tools safely.
- Assist with municipal infrastructure maintenance as required.
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in building maintenance, construction, or a related trade.
- Knowledge of carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems is an asset.
- Experience operating heavy equipment is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently.
- Willingness to obtain WHMIS, Standard First Aid/CPR, and Confined Space Entry certification.
