Job Description:
We are seeking experienced Structural Iron Workers and Welders with a strong background in commercial structural steel work. The role involves the erection and welding of structural steel on commercial towers and warehouse buildings. This includes steel frame erection, welding structural connections, installing metal decking, and miscellaneous steel work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Erect and align structural steel columns, beams, girders, and bracing.
- Perform structural welding (SMAW) on commercial steel buildings.
- Install metal decking and shear studs.
- Assemble and install stairs, handrails, and miscellaneous steel.
- Rig and lift structural steel members using cranes.
- Read and interpret structural drawings and blueprints.
- Maintain high standards of safety and quality on-site.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Structural Iron Worker or Welder on commercial projects (towers or warehouses preferred).
- For Welders: Current CWB SMAW certification (required).
- Valid Fall Protection certification (mandatory).
- Valid Lift / MEWP (Elevated Work Platform) training (mandatory).
- Physically fit and comfortable working at heights.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Safety tickets (CSTS, WHMIS) are an asset.
