Le Petit Écolier French Language Centre is looking for qualified and passionate French teachers to join our growing team on a part-time contract basis.
We are continuously expanding our roster of French instructors to support our group classes, private lessons, semi-private lessons, adult programs, and seasonal programs. This is a flexible contract opportunity with varying hours depending on student enrolment and teacher availability.
Position Details
Job Type: Part-time, Contract
Location: Oakville, Ontario
Format: In-person, with some online opportunities depending on demand
Schedule: Hours vary; weekday evenings and Saturdays are the main teaching times
Compensation: Starting from $25/hour, based on experience and assignment type
About the Role
As a French Teacher at Le Petit Écolier, you will teach French to children, teens, or adults in a supportive and structured learning environment. Lessons may include group classes, private tutoring, semi-private lessons, French immersion support, conversation practice, beginner French, or curriculum-based instruction.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching, is reliable, and can create engaging lessons that help students build confidence in French.
Responsibilities
- Teach French classes to students of various ages and levels.
- Prepare engaging and age-appropriate lessons.
- Support students in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in French.
- Follow the centre’s curriculum or learning objectives when provided.
- Provide brief student progress updates when required.
- Communicate professionally with the administrative team.
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment.
- Arrive on time and be prepared for all assigned lessons.
Qualifications
- Strong fluency in French required.
- Experience teaching French to children, teens, or adults preferred.
- Experience with French immersion, Core French, DELF, TEF, or FSL is an asset.
- Teaching degree, OCT certification, education degree, or related training is an asset but not mandatory.
- Must be reliable, organized, and professional.
- Must be comfortable working with students of different ages and learning needs.
- Vulnerable Sector Check required or willingness to obtain one.

- Is available on Saturdays and/or weekday evenings.
