Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring the tax compliance and financial obligations of our clients. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping to contribute to the clients seamless and handsfree experience . Proficiency in various accounting software and a solid understanding of financial processes are essential to succeed in this position.
What you’ll do:
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple small business clients, including A/P, A/R, payroll, and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks, Xero, Sage 50 and ensure all entries are coded correctly.
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations with a focus on accuracy and discrepancy resolution.
- Prepare and deliver clear financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet) for client review meetings.
- Assist clients with questions regarding their financial data, serving as a trusted point of contact.
- Support tax preparation with clean, organized records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with sales tax filings and other regulatory requirements.
You’ll be a good fit if you have the following qualifications:
- 2+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, preferably within a professional services firm.
- High proficiency with QuickBooks Online is required; familiarity with Xero and Sage 50 is a plus.
- Strong grasp of accounting fundamentals and GAAP.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to organizing financial data.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills; you can explain financial concepts clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements independently and meet firm deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
Nice-to-haves (but not required):
- A bookkeeping certificate or some formal training.
- Experience in a small firm where you wore a few different hats.
- Familiarity with the Canadian Income Tax Act and Tax filing software's.
- You’ve used tools like Dext, AutoEntry, Uncat & Jobber.

Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour
